Vietnam shot with A7xx!

I have been given permission to let the cat out of the bag! I recently got back from a month traveling in Vietnam shooting with Sony's newest A7xx body and giving it a pretty good workout. The ergonomics were good and I had no trouble becoming accustomed to the controls. I did not shoot any video though. :)

I have updated my website with new Vietnam photos from my recent trip there. They are in the Vietnam gallery (surprise!). There are also some photos from my previous trip there in 2000. The photos may be seen here:

I traveled in Vietnam going from the south up to the north. I was in Saigon (aka Ho Chi Minh City), the Mekong Delta, Dalat, Nha Trang, Hoi An, Hue, Halong Bay, and Hanoi. It was an interesting trip!

Here are 3 sample photos and I will put a few more in the following message.

The newest A7xx is currently the A700 and it has no video  Nice try, though

I forgot to mention this in my OP. The newest A7xx has an OVF. No EVF. I am okay with that, but I know that some people will be devastated. :)

After you click on the first photo in a gallery you can then click on the arrow on the top right. If you double click quickly a little window will pop up where you can set the number of seconds to delay between photos. There is not a way to make it full screen though. See this screenshot with the red arrow pointing to the icon to click:

Enjoying the albums, Henry. You're telling us a very good story. Wonderful.
Could you give some minor details on the A7xx please.

If you look at a brochure for the A700 you will get detailed and up-to-the-minute information about Sony's newest A7xx series camera. If you cannot find a brochure, just ask here, as I've been using Sony's newest A7xx series camera myself for almost two years.

Wonderful photos here and on your website Henry.. But... Please tell me I didn't jump the gun by buying an a700 a few months ago....If I even hinted at wanting a new camera now, Dannelle would shoot me slowly with dull bullets.. John

Henry, if you were using a new camera why the post in the Off topic forum complaining about the control wheel problem on your A700 that you said you were using on the trip...?

A quote from the thread "Please, please, someone, anyone, if I EVER make noises about buying another Sony camera shoot me, stab me, hang me, burn me, do anything to keep me from doing it!!! Okay, maybe I am kidding and after I calm down a bit I may change my mind. "

Okay guys, read it again - Sony's NEWEST 7xx. That's still the OLDEST 7xx as well, Sony has only ever released the 700 as a 7 series camera.

Henry's just having a bit of fun with you -and Sony - by pointing that out tongue-in-cheek.

Read what Henry said carefully. Note that Henry did not say that he was using a new A7xx camera. He said that he was using "the newest A7xx" camera.

Since Sony has not released a successor to the A700, the A700 IS "the newest A7xx camera".

Henry was using the same A700 that he has had for years, and is just having some fun at the expense of those who do not read what he said very carefully. As the old saying goes . . . "The Devil is in the details."

Yeah maybe we should look at the photo where they are carrying a load of bull on a scooter, and take it from there ha ha.
