Oh yes, and sitting in cold and snow at the moment it really makes me long for some nice warm coast and days where t-shirt and shorts are sufficient...

Good catch...and the seagull does add delicasy to the whole of the photo indeed...

Beautiful sunrise Thomas, well taken

- and I agree that the gull makes the shot. Really nice colours in the sky. It must have been a wrench to go to work and not just sit and look at the scenery.

Thanks Markus, Yildiz and Birma. This time of the year it's easy to watch the sunrise, actually. But of course, we also have clouds and gray wether sometimes and so the sun is hidden.
If you have ever photographed a sunset/sunrise in winter, you know how fast that thing is actually moving. The scene changes every few seconds. I fired off around twenty shots in a few minutes and managed to get only two when the gull was passing by.
Btw, I used the A700 for this and gave some rest to the NEX that morning.
