As you say Sploosher - lovely skies, and some very interesting architecture. The colour of the brick work in 2 and 3 goes very nicely with the sky but I think 8 is my favourite of the series.

A good series on architecture, Sploosher.
Interesting contrast between the vernicular architecture and the modern shiny 'ribbon' sculpture in the stone-paved court in #4.

A quite enjoyable series Sploosher. I think I like the 5th one the best, that looks like tavern on the front end, but I'm not totally sure.

Thanks Gregg.
If you are talking about number 5 (`The Push Inn`)in the original posting, then yes it is the pub,and the image in number 9 is outside on the pavement, if you notice, the horse is facing the wrong way, hence the name Push Inn.
dont know the real story about it, will have to do some research

Ah, I did notice the horse around backwards on the cart, the only thing I could come up with was pushing the cart into the barn that way when loaded so the driver could see where he was going, but then, it's a plate on a pub so who knows?

After searching and reading a little, apparently Beverly has quite an interesting history; including the pubs. : )
I found the sign that shows a horse pushing a cart interesting myself and the name 'Push Inn' may relate to an event of such eccentricity but sources only mention a time when the only sign on the door read 'PUSH' and the name stuck.
Then again, I recall a time in my childhood where I saw a cart being pushed exactly like that when we visited a bazaar near my grandmother's house. The vendor was selling green chickpeas which can be consumed like 'potato chips' of our time. Apparently the vibrant green branches of the chickpeas looked very appatizing to the horse and it quickened its pace to walk forth.

The vendor found this a more merciful way of making the horse move instead of heving to use a whip...
Well, look what you made me remember from my childhood Sploosher and Greg!
