Great colours. This is a shot which would be interesting processed with the new DxO Optics Pro auto lighting function, it would also have been interesting to see what the multi-shot HDR in the camera could have done.

Have you tried a sweep panorama yet?

Tricky lighting from the side, I cropped out a bit of lens flare, but I agree, lovely colours, I am just getting used to the metering and JPEG colours, it meters differently to the A100 and so they have to be handled differently, havent tried the sweep pano yet...dooooohhhhh, I could have tried that today but I forgot I had it, I dont think the weather will be this photofriendly for a few days yet though

Lovely scene Vaughan with really nice lighting . For me the Dynamic Range is an important factor in a camera's performance and not often discussed. I'm glad Sony are continuing to look at this area with their HDR feature.

Yes the colours are very good, but I like the perspective of the inclined path especially. The camera often seems to flatten the height of things, so that was well captured.

p.s. What if a polarizing filter was used in this case, would it be much better? I haven't used that kind of filter, but I am thinking to buy one.

How much effect a polarizing filter creates will depend upon the direction of the sunlight, with the maximum effect produced when the sun is at 90 degrees to the direction your lens is pointed. I cannot be certain looking at the posted image, but it appears to me that the shadows indicate that the sun was almost directly behind the photographer. If that is correct, the effect of a polarizing filter would be very small for this image.

If you like landscape photography, you should definitely get a polarizing filter. It can be very useful for several reasons in addition to the effect it has on the saturation of the sky. For example, it can be useful when water is in the image, and when shooting damp foliage.
