Hi Vaughan - I prefer #3 to #1 - it seems the shadows are lifted slightly? #2 is an equally nice view.

On a slighlty different topic - do you take all of the cameras out every day and then decide 'on location' which to use, or do you take out a particular camera body with a particular pupose in mind?

I travel around every day as part of my job and I generally carry the a100 in the car as it does a fine job, occasionally I take out the other cams, but tbh, the A100 is my fave for daylight shots like these because it was the cheapest and the one I can most afford to loose/break (I hope that doesnt happen though), I have been experimenting with the others to see how they compare to the A100, and my conclusion is that for landscapes in daylight, the A100 is every bit as good as the A55/NEX, those cameras have an advantage in lower light though

I removed one in error BUT here its back now, and how do you like the oil painting done with that free faststone software ??

I prefer the one with alpha software

Lovely...lovely...lovely... : )

And requires no oilpaint effect at all, especially as there's not much of a difference in grain to give a painterly appeal.

I don't think it does the effect enough. Here's the pic done in Irfanview. (Free software) I set it to a little more than the default setting.
I hope you don't mind my messing with your original!
