so i was sitting at my desk thinking of something to do, then there is this fly comes buzzing so i went and turned out the lights to make it leave.
THEN! i looked on my right i had Danbo on the table the look on him with the faint light coming from my screen it gave me an idea!
not sure if anyone has done or was been done here before its just something i thought of and wanted to share my boredom with you all
here is what i thought, since in still life photography some use more or one light with some reflectors and soft boxes,
which is too much of a mess for me to be honest lol
so i decided to do the same but with a single LED light from my cell phone, i turned off the lights and turned on the phone light
(EVF was very helpful to determine the amount of light) i pointed it on Danbo and it gave a really nice light.
settings:
Shutter 4secs
F8
ISO100
all the rest are default
so during the 4 secs i was pointing the light from all directions mostly from the front to give a shaded effect kinda of...
i tested 10 secs shutter gave me more time to point the light where i wanted was a lil too bright since the LED coming from my mobile is Strong.
so basically it needs a very good control of light and where you direct it and where you want to make shadows and such,
it takes alot of time to get it properly but it was fun! not as good as the equipments but it can do something.
in my opinion it needs to know "Timing" to get the light correct.
anyway here is the photo i took for Danbo
Original (no editing at all)
and this is after some touching with Photoshop
for people it barely work cant keep a human perfectly still
but in some situations like if they are lying down or leaning on a wall or something it can be done somewhat
not to mention it give nice effect where the camera with capture what you point at with light
i'll do some more and post it here later when i have more time!
Regards,
Boredom Project: 1 light with slow shutter

Hossain, I guess the first is much better. Anyway, it is related to taste.
But I do like your experiment and willing to try it myself but not with Danbo (don't have one).

I like the second one - I'm reminded of Little Big Planet .
Nex 5, Nex 6 (IR), A7M2, A99 and a bunch of lenses.

The PP result is better. There is a spotlight effect which validates the 'pose' of the subject. This is good stuff. Light painting has almost been forgotten, I guess few here will remember the fibre optic craze of the 1980s.
