Good day,

This Saturday I tried to take some wedding photos. It was very difficult for the first time, and when every body moves and you have to manage to take some nice shots.

I hope I will improve, though I am not going to become a wedding photographer, I would like to take photos as nice as it is possible.

My preferences out of these shots are mainly those with the least interferences;

*.. In the 3rd batch, the only shot I like is the middle one for the shared intimacy by the bride and the groom; the composition, for including them both in a balanced fashion. I also like the behind-the-veil effect in these captures but only because we can actually see the smiles and the expressions of both parties.

*..In the 2nd batch, things are a bit puzzling for me; I like the striking isolation of the face against a blinding whiteness but I am not sure if a little softness wouldn't work better. Maybe a little more revelation of the bust of her dress would make a smother transition of layers from top to the bottom of the frame. In short, while I like it there's still something bugging me about these shots.
I like the last shot with the rose petal shower where they are both shying a little! : )

*..In the 1st batch, my chosen ones are the first photo where they put their heads together for matrimonial togetherness. Seeing the bride's face fully works good here.
The last of this batch is my favourite but with a flaw; the only extra element/limb projected into the frame should be the priest's hand holding that cross, in my opinion. The dark portion of someone's back, to the right of the frame doesn't go well with the sacred and happy mood of the actual act taking place. I would much rather see the sleeve decorations of the priest's costume.

Well done though because these are still very nice album shots.

Actually I didn't feel that I wanted to take any photos, cause so many things bothered me. I don't feel comfortable shooting situations and people in rush... I become nervous.

I agree with you over all points you mentioned. I think I'll never shoot weddings again. I am giving up with the idea:)

I can't write long for not being with my PC.

Please don't give up. You have talent with such shots. Forget that you have nerves and tap people on the shoulder to make room.

I don't think I am good at this.

Maybe I shouldn't even spend time on it and return to my cinematic shots and simple portraits, so that I will improve more on that

I was very nervous the first time I did a wedding, there is so much at stake as these images cannot be retaken....

I felt a lot more confident afterwards, and actually looked forward to doing more, so much so, that my wife and I set up in business, but unfortunately at the wrong time, just before the global financial crisis hit.......

Ho Hum..............will try again when things pick up.

Close ups are nice, but I'll love to see more about the church, her dress, etc

interestingly i liked the overall intimacy of the shots and if that was what you were aiming for i think that, especially for your first time, you've done well. I agree with Yilditz's comments but would add that the third one of the second set is a lovely portrait - although you may not necessarily say it's a wedding shot

I did a couple of those weddings, long time ago. The bride explained me all about the ceremony (this was in Argentina and everything was in Armenian) and I recall enjoying something totally new for me ("regular" catholic and Jewish weddings are common...) I did like the crowns and bride and/or groom walking around.
