the one with colors.

This is a great illustration of when to use black and white. one of the things that draw the eye is colour. Usually colour sharp edges or contrast and leading lines run your eye around the picture and busy with colour pictures (not that this one is) the eye tends to get lost in. by choosing B&W the eye is no longer drawn to her blue skirt first and then getting lost but instead follows the strong contrast lines from the edge of her coat and the wood behind her right to her pleasing expression. nice

Very nice portrait. I agree with Javelin that the B&w shot is more appealing. You find some great locations .

Thank you a lot. I am so happy you liked the B/W one. I didn't edit the picture, didn't crop. I made it b/w and it become so lovely that I decided to leave everything as it is.

p.s. I really like finding locations. Wherever I pass a street, a building, and notice some interesting locations, I say to myself "this place should be used"

I prefer the B&W frame as a more neutral yet definitive photo also but I like seeing the colour version to be able to make the selection; colour cluttering absence in the first does make viewing easier.

Still though, I like how the amount of light delivers a good skin colour and texture in the colour version which also speaks for the camera and lens quality.

Myself, I like the color version. It makes her face brighter, and there's not enough color in the photo to distract you from the main subject.

Cute! I love the B&W one. When the composition is that good, let it be as impactful as can be without the distraction of color.
