Fancy sitting here having your excellent lunch and watching Switzerland's most famous mountain The Matterhorn? Done that and hoping to do it again this year (weather permitting).

Ah, that sweet, clean scent of snow...and the calling of the white, spiky heights. : )

I'm still sitting on a few gigs of ski-trip photos that should be good to share here, mostly some panoramas and portraiture...if only there weren't so much else piled on my plate.

Great photos folks. Here is an early spring image of Scotland's highest mountain from a place called Corpach, where The Caledonian Canal has its southern entrance. The mountains are from right to left Ben Nevis (1344m) Aonach Beag (1234m) and Aonach Mor (1219m). Fort William stretches out below.

How come the less high of the two Aonachs got called mhor and the taller one beag? Those Gaels can't have had accurate measuring devices

Last week in the blizzard:

Lots of great mountain shots. I had to stop and wonder at the zebra crossing in the middle of nowhere, it's probably quite sensible and all, but it did look...funny. And you can see the glacier gouging in the Scottish mountain shot, how big were those glaciers...wow.
Very strange effect from Henry, getting a pano and squishing it.
