Butterflies & 135/2.8

Unread post by wwind_chan_200 »

I was getting a little itchy and wanted to use my 135mm and HVL42 on some butterflies so I made my way to the Sydney Wildlife World where their exhibition was open for only one more weekend before winter renovations. Unfortunately there weren't may species on show but I still enjoyed the time. Here are a couple of shots which I liked.

Lovely butterflies - I especially like the butterfly in flight shot - very dramatic :D .

That 3rd shot is a beaut!!! Always found it nigh on impossible to capture a butterfly in flight... WELL DONE!!

Thanks for the comments guys, I must admit I found it tough to focus on the erratic movements but it's all worth it in the end.

Here's a couple more from the set:

Hi wwind_chan_200, :)

As was delivered by everyone, my comments won't differ. The butterfly-in-flight shots are mesmerising and impressive!

Donwae12,

That's one good shot as well! :) I must respect the beautiful photo opportunities with these creatures, since we see very few butterlies here at the moment.

Thanks for sharing,

Yildiz

I love that lens, but unfortunately it has some strong Longitudinal Chromatic Aberration so it can be a bit annoying :?

Wonderful job capturing the butterflies though! :D

@wwind_chan_200: Very, very nice! The colors on all pictures are outstanding and that gives a more value to them. Continue with the good work. 8)
