Very nice view Vaughan - I love the curve of the bay and the colour of the sea. Great picture.

The A55, well I do like it particularly in situations where there is less light, however I must say that in half decent light, my A100 delivers to my eye, slightly more pleasing JPEGS, the A100 is still a really good camera (still quite expensive on E-Bay I notice) with outstanding battery life
I find that the A55 JPEGs need a +1 in camera contrast to give them some punch, I quite like the EVF, and the shadow detail is good, I do not get too many blocked shadows on the A55 either which is welcome
Quite why Sony calibrate the meter in the way that they do I dont know, it meters consistently which is great, but a user of mainly Auto mode would get so many overexposed shots as my wife proved when she took it to a wedding reception, I would like to see a setting that gives global recalibration of the metering, and so you could shift the zero EV point up or down to suite, I would recalibrate Auto mode by at least -0.3 ev maybe -0.7, the NEX is even worse in this regard
So yes I do like the A55 and I enjoy using it but it has also made me realise just how good the A100 was too
