One of the most beautiful places on earth. It's Utah, and even with all the other parks in the state, this place is special.

With all the images you and others here on the forum display, I can imagine the feeling you must have everytime you see the breathtaking mountains and open fields in Utah. I've never been in the USA, but it's these kind of images that make me wish I could be there.

Amazing looking place - love #1 and #2 Almazar. This is now firmly on my must visit list for the "camper van both ways across North Amercia" trip that is taking shape - but only in my imagination at the moment
. Just worried if my waist band and heart can take the number of IHOPs and Dunkin' Donuts that may be encountered on the way.

To really see the national parks, hiking is required. So I guess the donuts could conceivably have less of an impact on the waist band. Bryce is really striking - one place I would not miss visiting, one place I would like to visit again. And again.

Stunning indeed. I had to go and read on their formation history a little. They are a result of freeze-and-thaw process unlike the rest of the true canyons. I can imagine the awe one is trapped in when standing in their faces...

I first saw Bryce as a small child, and have been back there again several times as an adult. It is only about a 3 hour drive from the North Rim of Grand Canyon (which, IMO, is even more impressive than the South Rim of Grand Canyon) and even as a child I considered Bryce to be preferable to Grand Canyon - which I love.
As was mentioned above, although the vistas from the rim of Bryce are stunning, walking the trails in Bryce is the best way to maximize your experience. However, this would not be wise for someone with health problems, as the entire area is at relatively high altitude - about 2400 meters if my memory is correct. You start from the rim, and walking the trails is actually very easy - except when the time comes to return to the rim. At that altitude, this is done slowly, even by people in good health.
But the walk is worth it !

my wife and i visited the west coast of America ten years ago and was amazed at the veiws of Bryce canyon i thought then cant wonder at the indians(native americans) whanting to hold on to the country.

Very nicely taken Almazar80, Bryce Canyon is certainly a marvel, it probably should be listed as one of the wonders of the world.
