Hello after yet another long time period

In 2010 I’ve spent wonderful summer week in Italy. It was my first visit there and I definitely want to visit this country again One week was way to short, but our trip was well organized and we managed to visit Venice, Rome, Florence, Monte Cassino, Pompeii and Assisi. As you can see our schedule was quite busy and I hadn’t much time for shooting (I was more interested in sightseeing anyway). For me most of the photos from this trip are just family memories and thus they don’t need to be technically correct or even interesting. However I’ve selected few that I want to share with you. As usual I hope that you’ll enjoy them at least a little bit.

Today I’d like to show you Venice. We’ve spent just few hours there and unfortunately morning sky was a bit dull. When weather got better we were already leaving

Those are some of the best views of Venice I think I’ve seen, they are not only well taken but interesting also.

The light is not that bad in these shots. In fact, I think that under bright sunlight there would be very contrasty, dark shadows that would hide the beautiful details of the old buildings on the canals. Now you have better light that spreads evenly and hence better photos...The sun on a bright day in Venice, can create washed out facades and ink-black shadows.
They say that it's always better to shoot on an overcast day for the even light dispursion. Especially, for architecture.

Lovely places and very nice shots that I really enjoyed. As it appears, Italy accommodates a significant number of 'leaning' towers.

I love them all. Specially the fifth, sixth, eight and nine.

Thanks Doc & Alpha_Zagreb. Leaning towers are real. Its due to partial sinking of wooden posts on which buildings are placed. Many buildings in venice has "level" problems, but the tower on third shot has biggest and most visible ones.

Love the images you posted! Beautiful city that will be beautifully remembered (or in my case, beautifully imagined until I get a chance to visit Venice itself). Thank you for posting.

Nice shots all. I understand your concern with lighting but gray sky does allow for detail. A fair trade.
