I am not getting the a77 back till Tuesday. I shot this with the NEX 7 and Sigma 8-16mm. Look close the big dipper is center frame.

Yes that was an easy star challenge, Orion is very recognizable. The NEX7 is controlling the flash expoure quite well.

As with your previous images, you've controlled the lighting very well. Nice image!

Thanks all. The a77 is in transit from repair so I have been spending more time with the NEX 7. It is an awesome camera. I really think Sony needs to make some wide angle lenses for it though.

Well done! I like this photo. By the way, that is Orion in the center, not the Big Dipper.

Thanks for the correction Bakubo. I was thinking that was small for the dipper.

Just trying to help. I was just thinking that as a cosmonaut it would be important for you to get to the right place. It might be a big problem to arrive at Orion when you intended to go to the Big Dipper.

Yes a cosmonaut should know better.
