Ran into a dead oak tree the other day that became my first guinea pig to try out the built in HDR feature in the a65, am happy with the result.
If u have any HDR´s plz post them here

It seems to have reasonable latitude Dennis but I guess one really needs to see how dark the shadows are in the original scene 'un HDR' to appreciate the difference. Also what is the cause of the smudging in the twigs upper middle?

Hmm...the HDR version does have halos around quite a few branches, some quite severe in a few places (toward the upper, left hand corner, the blue sky has turned almost white in one spot).
If you like the look of the HDR version, you can probably get something quite a bit closer from the standard exposure, with only minor editing (with the minor caveat that you'd already compressed enough that the sky was showing some artifacts, and even minor editing made them considerably worse...).
As with any time I edit and post somebody's pictures, if you'd rather I hadn't posted it, please let me know and I'll be happy to remove it.

How many stops of dynamic range exist in the original photo? If it's not more than 11 or 12, then HDR is a "pointless" exercise.

the values u can sett in the a65 is 1 to 6.0EV and auto ( and the camera takes 3shoots and make it into one picture.)
