Nice shot, Mike. Nice light, nice subject, nice context with the background. Nice surprise, too (something I would expect in India, but not Morocco). I have read explanations that snake charmers are never bitten because the snakes focus on the moving horn and the charmers maintain a safe distance between themselves and the snakes rising out of the baskets. Your picture blows that theory for this snake charmer.

A very dangerous occupation I think, I wonder what the average life expectancy of a snake charmer is? The Cobra (naja naja) is a very dangerous snake, some think it’s closely related to the Tiger snake here, another very dangerous snake, there is no way I’d ever pick one up in the middle of the body no matter how much it has been handled. Great shot btw.

Hmm, nice ethnic bazaar and entertainment.

I like the overall shot and the hazards involved don't seem to bother me. I suppose the charmers know how to handle the snakes since there's an other lying idlly by also.

Thanks for sharing,
