This morning, I have also do a very quick movie, to show the angle of view a 800mm with the NEX 7. Even at this angle, the moon is still very small and move fast limiting the exposition for proper shot. There was a lot of interference in the air also (poor city air environment ).
I like the second and third shot most Frank, although I find the the reflection of the little colored lights in the second image to be a bit of a distraction. Very moody images though!

Is that a Minolta 400mm ?
Ron
Yes it is the 400mm f4.5 of Minolta with the 2x II converter @ ~F8. The Sony Nex adapter don't like the tele-converter so I'm using a manual control adapter for NEX mount but the aperture is on a scale from 1 to 8 .
The result should has been a bit better detail because there was some fog and light cloud in the air.
I'm thinking that it is probably less expensive to take a good mirror telescope with a t-mount adapter then using my current setup to get better result.
