I was recently at the dockyard and created the following shot from a series of handheld exposures to create a HDR image..

Image

It just so happened that the Dockyard was celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the building of the Ocelot. The gallery manager needed an up to date photo and was browsing flickr.. a swift email exchange followed and thats how this happened..

Check out the small print at the bottom - fame at last :-)

Congrats on the photo, nice work. It's great to see historical ships being preserved too.

Congratulations Scott :) . A very striking picture and it has certainly enlarged well! The sub looks great in its dry dock.

I'm eager to see other shots of it. Any from the inside?

Great images Scott. I almost missed the notice of the personal "triumph" and was wondering about the congratulations.
It pays to read the fine print, I guess. Congratulations on your commissioned work on a decommissioned vessel. :)

Now go and get yourself a Zeiss (I listened David's advice, you do the same).

Congratulations, DrScottNicol. :)

The dockyard and the display of the hull is impressive. I think your shooting style has a lot to do with the selection of the particular shot. The vivid blue sky with puffy clouds in contrast with the stone hard stepped structure and cold of the dark steel is a blend of opposites to create a beauty.

And good to see yet an other member published and aknowledged for his dedication. : ) Enjoy your fame.

Thanks for sharing,

Yildiz

Great! Very nice photo! What kind of ship is that? It sort of looks like a strange submarine.
