There was a lot of cloud today ... but I gave it a try .

The result is not as clean as a clear sky...

Those are great shots Frank and Kevin...I too was thwarted by clouds for some of the transit, but I managed to get these...

Of course, I say it was "my go," but it was actually John's lens, John's tripod, John's placement for both, and John's settings. It was just my camera and memory card.

To Kevin: you captured a fantastic shot, good think you used John's lens... but tell me, is it true that he charged you that much?

To John: you are a lousy businessman, why didn't you charge him more? I told you he would pay any price you'll ask. So next time my commission will be 35% ...

Fabulous shots Frank, KB and John - thanks for sharing them so quickly. A real "once in a life-time" photo shoot. I'm sure the clouds were frustrating, but I think they do add something to the pictures.

Very nicely done you guys, I couldn’t take an astronomical photo to save myself, and I couldn’t get things working properly with Murray’s telescope, no eyepiece projection or T-adaptor would work properly so I took some snapshots at prime focus (with great difficulty lining everything up), but even there my eyes weren’t focussing the camera properly, what looked sharp in the viewfinder wasn’t sharp in the photo with manual focus, (I need to set the diopter correction…some time) and auto focus was problematic as well, frequently going off on some time wasting excursion.
But anyway here are a couple of snaps such as they are.

Greg- those are great. I really want to get a better telescope and solar filters for it, plus a camera adapter, and a solar telescope, and a....You see where this is going!

John it’s hard too resist ‘gas’ when bitten by the astronomy bug, it has the potential to get worse too once one gets interested in galaxies because then you can’t get a telescope that’s ‘too big’ for that endeavour.

Depending on each one's time zone the passing of Venus appears to be different in each photo making each one unique. : )

Even Kevin's...by 1/100.000th of a shift from John's.
