This weekend the annual PowerMeet 2012 has been held in my hometown Västerås,
It´s the worlds biggest car meet with over 6000 cars... and the main show site and camping is next door to my house ( 700m ) and teh only way we can get from home during this days is by boat or bicycle :/ becuase we have to drive past the camping area and thta place is in gridlock during Wednesday - Sunday


and this is a few HDR´s i took on some promising targets

I guess those cars don't need to be shot in HDR. They are photogenic as they are. They're even greater in B&W.
Could you post more shots, Dennis? I'm pretty sure you've got lots of them in your card or PC.

Those old cars, covered in rust, are very photogenic Dennis - and I like the hdr effect as well

I wonder why they bring a rusty car too a car show? I'm not all that up on car shows but it seems a bit odd too me, but good photo grabs just the same Dennis.

The rusty cars belongs to hangarounds and the only reason they are here is for the party "white trash " they call themselfs "raggare" and there is many of them
and rest of us just has a picnic and watch them party

the crusing is actually not a part of the powermeet but it´s happens every year tur- sat night and i am actually sitting on one of the smaller streets but the say it´s about 10-15.000 cars in the Saturday cruse...

Some great oldies there Dennis, check the Oldsmobile, wow I never knew that GM made something as ghastly as that, love the Mustang.

Hi Dennis,

The HDR processing doesn't bother me at all, in fact the effect kind of gives the photo an early 20th century negative-processing look.
What kind of bothers me though is the fact that the human skin colour changes to a yellowish-brown tone which is uncomfortable for me. But the HDR cars look great with the addition of the rusty conditions.

i can agree that the skintones arent the best have redone some of them with much better result but i have a long way to go in the skills of lightroom

Living in Southern California, I'm no stranger to car shows featuring these same models--but I have never seen a car show featuring rusty ones. I like it. You did a good job of capturing a phenomenon I would have never guessed as existing in Sweden. Thanks for sharing both the event and the results of using HDR for these kinds of shots. As Yildiz pointed out, the HDR gives a antique look matching the old rusty cars--like some old postcard that has been in a drawer for 50 years.

Hey Greg,
All the American cars in 1958 were just as "ghastly." Loaded with chrome, they were among the heaviest ever made. I figure it must have been the '58s that spawned the Australian term "Yank Tanks."
