Potter Marsh, Anchorage, Alaska

Here is an example of something good coming out of industrialization. These mostly fresh water Marshes were created by the embankment built to lay the train track from Anchorage to Seward. The train track hugs the Turnagain arm (a body of sea water open to Pacific Ocean) and the embankment trapped the fresh water on the other side except for the drain pipes laid periodically. This resulted in a bird sanctuary and a perfect place to watch birds, take a walk and enjoy the nature within few miles out of Anchorage. What a lucky population!!!

Sunset looking at Pacific Ocean beyond the railroad track. Potter Marsh is behind me. I need to fix the light flare at the bottom center. I was looking at bright Sun.
