I do a fair amount of shooting in studio and have now replaced the A900 with the A99.. these from one of the first studio sessions..

Very nice shots. I am curious if the reflections on the tip of the shoulder and
on shoulder blade are by design. I felt them pulling meaway from the face.

Yes, I did light those areas specifically.

I am too. It seems a bit distracting.

This lady in particular wanted to be able to see the collarbones... she asked me to light it so that they could be seen... the spot on the shoulder is a shadow of her hair..... it is distracting to some but others love it...

Well, you accomplished the collarbone mission. As long as the client is happy, who are we to judge eh?!

Thank you Robbie, for the explanation. It certainly a different perception and at least make me think
"out of the box" as to the motivation of such a request. Much appreciated. Could you tell how you
accomplished that lighting, if you do not mind?

Yes, the client was very happy..

Sury, I used a barndoors with honeycomb high up on the LHS to light that area.. It took a few shots to get the light spread exactly as we wanted... I tethered onto a large plasma screen so that the client could see as we shot..

I don't often do babies but a family arrived for a family shoot today and they also wanted some shots of the baby by it's self... shot in RAW and developed in PS...

Not sure of the color or the monochrome version..

Thank you for the explanation. Much appreciated. Baby shot is nicely captured.
The monochrome seems a bit less livelier than the color one. I may be in the dark
here (no pun intended) but wondering given the reddish hue in the color photo,
would a sepia be a good choice unless that one is already a sepia.

Actually, you should "cut the baby in half" so to speak. Desaturate it a bit to give it the look of the old hand colored black and whites.

Reason being, the blanket colors are too strong in the color, and the baby too light in the b/w.
