santorii is often seen in colour photos i thought it would make a change in mono.

Mono conversions seem to be the theme of the week!

I really like the composition and angle you chose. The low contrast greyscale conversion does work, however I find the sky a bit bland this way. They only cloud in the sky almost blends in with the color of the sky.

A perfect candidate for color or mono. I love the b&w treatment. If you don't mind,
could you explain your flow?


As a self proclaimed uncreative, I am curious if the body of the water is cropped may
be till the edge of the hills in the background. To me, it feels the white is not contrasted
as much against that non ebony black shade which I think is from the blue water.

My wife and I visited Santorini in 2001 and hope to go back there again someday.

Over the years I have loved B&W and that is what I started shooting with my first 35mm SLR back in the 1970s. I then started shooting mostly color with just occasional B&W, but lately I have really gotten back into it.

i am not sure my way of working could be described as workflow, more case of suck it and see. i did conversion in elements using the drop down options provided plus a bit of cropping to suite. thats about it i do agree the sky/cloud is a bit samey.
