Better late than never!

Here are some shots that I took back at the start of November for the Autumn colour challenge, but I never got further than taking the pictures
It was a rare sunny, blue-sky day so Tilly and I took the opportunity to pop to this great little wood that has some fantastic mature beech and oak trees. As the afternoon wore on there was a succession of photographers who, I suspect, were on the way home from work, noticed the weather, and dashed for this well known spot with easy access. I hope we didn't get in the way of anyone else's shots

What beautiful autumn colors you caught Andy! It warms the heart in these dark, dreary times. Were these shot at the Isle?

Beautiful fall colors! We don't get any of that in Hawaii.

Thank you Henry and Mark
Mark - those were taken close to home, just after we got back from our trip to the Isle of Skye.
Henry - there are some advantages to having 4 seasons I guess

. I quite bored on winter already - just very wet and grey. Looking forward to spring.

Great set Andy. That is one of the things I miss living where I do, is the fall (autumn) colors.
Sigh!!!
With best regards,
Sury

These are beautiful pictures of Piper's Hill. I wonder where it is. Searching in Google my vote goes to a place in Worcestershire
http://www.wildlifeextra.com/go/uk/Pipers-Hill.html#cr but I may be completely wrong. Also I would very much appreciate if the camera and lens are disclosed. Thanks for the posting Birma.

You are spot on with the location alphomega! Here is another link with a few more details: [url]

The wood is owned and managed by Worcestershire Wildlife Trust. It is a great location as it has many 'veteran' beech and oak trees and one of the easiest places around here to get that beech wood look. There is also a handy pond.
I always try and put the camera and lens details with pictures. This was with the Sony Nex 5 and Sony DT 16-80 F3.5-4.5 ZA mounted via the Sony LA-EA2 adapter. This is my preferred wide angle / tripod set up at the moment; the flip up screen and fabulous live view with focus assist is brilliant IMHO.
