Snowburst at Mount Bachelor

Driving up Mount Bachelor two years ago, we were surprised by a sudden burst of snow (in late April). We went to a turnabout and this is what we saw:

1. The snow is falling

Wow! That's some fierce weather. Did you get out into it or did you shoot this from the vehicle?

We actually went out of the car to experience the snowburst. There was an emergency snow shelter in the turnabout for emergencies. Needless to say, we headed back down the mountain and went to the rainforest near Bend, Oregon.

Mount Bachelor and environs had record breaking snow that year. So much snow that there was skiing until July. We tried to go to the summit by another way a day later. Unsurprisingly, a wall of snow over twenty feet thick blocked the road past the ski area.

Looks even a bit eerie like this. Great tones in both shots!

Scary that one can get caught in a burst like that and imagine you are not in a 4 wheel drive.
The second one is very dramatic too.

Those shots look like our back yard on Sunday. We got over 12 inches of snow in about 10 hours!

My back is still sore from shoveling!
