Mojave Desert Afternoon to Evening

Unread post by John David Cubit »

The open desert on a still day gives me peace, especially in the late afternoon through dusk as the lowering sun position and developing twilight change the colors of the landscape.
These photos were taken at a Mojave dry lake bordered by the historic Route 66 in California. Under all lighting conditions the salty soil in the mounds of a saltworks on the lake bed are more reflective than their surroundings.

Wonderful John - I really like the changing colours as the light disappears at the end of the day. I especially like the layers through the picture in the first one.
Nex 5, Nex 6 (IR), A7M2, A99 and a bunch of lenses.
