Love the old cars guys :)

Henry, that is a Citroën 2 CV. It looks like one of the many special editions which we're basically different paint jobs. The first car I bought was a 2 CV. It was fabulous. Went anywhere, carried almost anything, easy to work on, cheap to run and fun. It just didn't go anywhere very fast, wasn't comfortable on long journeys and you froze in the winter :) . 602 cc air cooled engine. No synchro-mesh on first gear. No mod-cons, but reliable as there was nothing to go wrong. Top speed between 65 and 70 mph depending on the gradient of hill you were going down. The roof came down, which was great in the summer, and all of the seats were easily removed. I transported all sorts of odd things in it with the roof down.

My wife to learnt to drive in it and it became her car for years once we had two cars. Sadly I bumped it and it was never right after that - they are not the sturdiest of things. I have posted a picture of it here sometime ago - a scan from on old film shot. I will try and look it up.

Thanks for the info on the car. I updated the caption on my website with the name so I wouldn't forget.

So true! That was fun going back and seeing some of the posts in that old thread. I had forgotten that I had already asked about this car back then.

There are some beauties there Sury; great colours. Is there something like owners growing to look like their cars ?

A very tidy motor, Mike. If the occupants were visiting the building across the road then you can understand why it has been left there so long! ;)

Sury, those are really popping colors! That yellow car is very interesting. I wonder what kind it is? Must cost a fortune now that it has been fully restored. I see that even though you didn't get the shapely babe in the photo you managed to get her shadow.

Mike, you sure don't see many cars like that anymore. A few weeks ago in Nevada I saw several similar ones on the road. I think they were probably heading to a car show or something.

Andy, very observant and undoubtedly right on the money.

Spotted in the Texas countryside along a small road in 1998. I call it the Texas Christmas Truck:

Mike,
That is a nice capture with iPhone.
Henry, only in Texas.
Andy, this was a few years ago and yes that gentleman wanted to be one with the car.
Henry, looks like it was very expensive mod done to the car.
