Some images of the garden(s) at Monticello, Thomas Jefferson's home in Charlottesville, Virginia. A World Heritage site, this is a great place to visit when visiting the Old Dominion (Virginia). It's about a two hour drive from Washington D.C.

The first is almost magnificent in its broody quality with that intense fog. A timeless shot.

I love vineyards, so I am partial to tat photo also.

The third is ever so romantic but maybe a wider capture would work better...at least for me. : )

Thank you for the kind comments. Monticello is always evolving. Since I visited it last (about five years ago), they have added a new visitors center complex (with a museum) and Monticello has been designated a World Heritage site. The continue to improve the exhibited materials to get it closer to what the archivists believe the place to have been when Jefferson was alive. Really a great place to visit - for the history buff, for the would be Renaissance man. Beware though. Jefferson was a multi talented individual that few in history could match. Really humbling, but one also appreciates the good fortune the United States had to have had Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Madison and Monroe to be among the founding fathers.

Besides, the Virginia countryside is beautiful.
