The Janky Barge

Unread post by sury »

This is on the Ocean Beach, San Francisco, California. The concept is that you
rent wireless head phones for $25/day and go on the beach and dance. They play
dance music without disturbing others through wireless connection. Unfortunately
I could not get any dancing yet, since they were just setting up their shop when we
were there.

Boy, that is right.

I have to wonder how successful they will be. I bunch of people dancing in silence on the beach. I think this is one of those sort of brain dead ideas that sounded good when talking with some buddies over beers, but in reality won't go over. Let us know if it becomes a great success though. It would be fun to see a video of a bunch of people dancing on the beach with no music.

Well, what do I know? Maybe doing everything in silence is the new, trendy thing.

The Rolling Stones are getting pretty long in the tooth so maybe they need to make some changes. Silent concerts. Their next album could just be 10 songs of silence. I guess Simon and Garfunkel may have been on to something way back in 1966. Sometimes it takes awhile for a fad to finally catch on.
