Here is another sunset across the floods shots. A wider view than the last one. The water is still with us but the weather has been grey and gloomy most of the week.

Great shots everyone. I have been enjoying them lurking in the background.
This is technically from 2013 but processed in 2014.

Wow - another epic stitch-up Sury! A great view - I bet that would print to some huge size :)

Shot from Sunday. I like the compressed layers and the impression of liquid light spilling over the hills at sunrise.

Here's a composite of 41 shots looking mostly south. I'm working on a 433 image time lapse from the same night. I'm really enjoying learning how to do star shots. The lines aren't as connected or smooth as I would've liked but it's coming along.

Nice star trails. What software you use for stacking?

With best regards,

I've found Dr Browns services to be amazing for star trails provided you have CS5 or CS6. It's a very automated process and his videos explain how to use it. Look for the "Stack-a-matic" tutorial.

Sorry to spam with a non-sony image, holding onto a Nikon for star trails until there is a good intervalometer for the A7. Anyone aware of one that can do longer than 30" exposures?

Sury, I used a program called Startrails. http://www.startrails.de

Darin, I like the waterfall and star trails shot. I don't have CS but I will check out the link you provided.

Thank you. I tried DSS and Autostakert in the past.
Darin, We are not that picky about the once in a while "spam".
Is the cable remote interface (if there is one) different than A100/700/900 etc?
I found one on eBay for A900 for about $15 and it worked reasonably well.
I say reasonably because it always chopped my exposure time by 1 sec. when
exposing 10s/20s images. Good thing was it was consistent.
Since it is run in bulb mode, the duration is up to you.

Thank you Sury and Hefay :)

I admire the hard work you guys put in to those star trail shots - they look great.

Another shot from Sunday morning. The other extreme of the focal length available in my camera bag. This is at 12 mm on the Sigma 12-24. A lovely lens to use. I was just playing around so there is no reason for this shot to be so wide. A handy piece of cloud was veiling the sun so it took away the flare. Flare can be nice but you're getting the non flare version :)

Chesterton Mill, UK

After weeks of terrible weather and cancelled photo shoots with friends, finally had a successful nights shooting up near Leamington Spa. Of course, half a dozen other photographers had the same idea that very night too :-)

Image

Of course, the bad weather does have the occasional upside too... like this shot of a normally boring field by the dual carriageway in Reading, Berkshire
