Hearst Castle, San Simeon, California

because he was tired of sleeping in the tents when he camped there.

Hearst had laid out so that he can land his DC-3 plane when he visited. When he was constructing this structure,
he was actually had a castle being built in Wales and a manse for his wife in Hamptons, NY, according to our tour guide.

I was wondering what I was looking at when I saw these appear on Flickr. Thanks for the explanation.

That indoor pool looks amazing. Just imagine the work and craftsmanship it took to build such a decor! Reminds me of El Alhambra or the Vatican museum.
