Saturday we went to the natsu matsuri in Yoshida and then on Sunday we went to the Doronko Matsuri (Mud Festival) in Shirakawa-cho, an even smaller town. Both were great fun! Photos are in the Japan gallery:

Very interesting. Given (my assumption) that Japanese are very much neatness minded, this is just

These days it is hot and humid in Japan so wallowing in muddy water sounds not half bad.

I guess it depends on your definition of 'neat'..

Love the shot of the gent falling into the mud. I love to see that such traditions are still practiced..

I fired up LR and I see that the largest number of photos are from A-mount cameras (A700, A100, KM 7D) and next is from Canon (60D, 30D, 300D) and next is m4/3 (E-M5, Panasonic G3). I am not counting all the digicams. My website, of course, only has a small percentage of my photos, but probably the proportions are similar.

One interesting note about my experience with the above cameras. I sold the D7i, 300D, 30D, and 60D when I no longer wanted them. The K-7 I just had for a couple of weeks and then returned it since I wasn't satisfied with it above ISO 800. None of my A-mount cameras were really sellable so I am stuck with them. I lucked out and although my 7D was defective (I had 2 and both were defective) Sony gave me a full refund on it after it had been sent in 5 times to try to get it fixed. The A700 and A100 have defects also so they just sit unused and unsold.
