Photoclubalpha

A couple of weeks ago all of the planets aligned to mean I was at home, with free time, and good weather for sunrise. I went to one of my favourite 'long view' places locally for some telephoto action .

As the sun came up the mists formed and I had some fun composing pictures with compressed multiple layers, back-lit, from my vantage point on a hill top.

Nice shot Although I wonder why you have displayed it as something out of a box brownie? Surely either B&W or a true colour image would be more impressive? And STILL not critiicizing (honest } a little more contrast and sharpening could maybe improve it?

Very nice shot Birma! Wish I would sometimes find such a nice circumstances. Really, perfect as it is. Nothing to improve. Colors work for me (looks like true color image to me).

Those stacked lines of trees in the mist are wonderful.

I like that one Birma, (it’s a sort of nostalgic reminder for me of one I took from Murray’s hut in the rainforest looking out over the misty ridges in the valley while rain was approaching, a little while ago), I counted (carefully) 11 different tree lines in yours, I think I only got 6 hilltop ridges in mine (from memory).

I really appreciate the feedback Tony - I hadn't thought of going B&W, but a great idea. The amount of contrast to add to these shots is a quandary for me. Some days I like it all ethereal and misty, and then another day I like to pop up the contrast and get that deeper depth of shadow. I've added another shot with a bit more contrast below. The colour is pretty much how I saw it. The low sun was giving a very orange glow. You can see it in the wider sky in the shot below. I guess the great thing with PP is you can have the colour pretty much how you want it

Here is another picture from the misty dawn shoot. The church tower adds a great point of interest and I have shot this view before. I loved the orange sky silhouetting the Malvern hills. Pixel peeping the full size picture you can see a group of people at the trig point on the highest hill (the Worcestershire Beacon).

Three very nice landscapes Andy. A very good example of how many
variations one can capture of the same scene. Something to remember
when I feel same old, same old. It is me that is same old, same old,
not the scenery.

When presented with those big views I am trying to remember to consider a telephoto to pick out details in the scene, and this gives you those options

I really like that last one but they are all great.

Yeah, really great sceneries for sure. And you've got plenty of them. I like the one with church and the last one.
