University of California, Santa Cruz campus is nestled in forested hills and commands
beautiful views of Monterey Bay and Pacific Ocean. This is standing in front of university
Gym (yes, their Gym has floor to ceiling windows to watch the view while running on treadmill).
Handheld, A mode, stitched in MS ICE. Initially MS ICE could not recognize the images.
I processed them in LR (brightened them up a bit) and then MS ICE had no problem handling the
task.
My daughter attends UC SC and could not make it home for the Thanksgiving holiday here. So
the family decided to visit her and spend sometime with her.

16 Images. Looking straight at Monterey Bay.




14 Images. To the right of the tip of hills in the back is Pacific Ocean. Everything to the left is a Monterey Bay (Crescent shaped). The town of Santa Cruz is right smack in the middle before the water's edge starts.

The stitching of those looks great Sury, and an impressive view. Is that an island offshore?

Andy, Thank you. It is the southern end of the crescent. The left side is covered in fog thus
creating the illusion of an island.

On the way to Las Vegas from San Jose, California. Mojave Desert. At a rest stop. Outside temperature was 110oF/44oC.
Looking towards Edwards Air Force Base, Edwards, California.The distant hills you see is where the AFB is located. Stitched
21 images in MS ICE.

Fabulous view - I love the clouds across the sky.

I'm not sure which is most eye-popping; the 21 images stitched together, or 44oC ouch!

Thank you Andy. It became worse in Las Vegas where temperature hit 113oF/45oC.

Here is one from Grand Canyon...

Hi Sury,

No matter how hot and intolerable at times it was, these photos are just worth it. I hope all of you were fine in the vehicle though, with a little help from the air-conditioner.

I just took a look at your Flickr gallery and apart from this gorgeous panorama, the canyon, where the bridge spans over a hydro-electric facility got my attention. At least, that's what I thought it was. Maybe a glimpse of the Hoover Dam? That's a very nice shot as well.

Yildiz, Thank you. Just for you...

As you are looking at the bridge, Arizona is to your left and Nevada is to your right.

The bridge you see is built in the last 5 years or so for making commercial traffic flow smoothly. Before the bridge,
all the traffic between the States of Nevada and Arizona have to travel through winding extra miles causing huge traffic
jams due to mix of travelers to the dam and trucks and through interstate traffic.

When they built that bridge, they have also provided a pedestrian path to walk and take full view of the bridge. It required
about couple of hundred steps of climbing and walking in a fully exposed to Sun heat. At this point the temperature was
reading around 46oC and I did not have the courage to step out side. So we decided to skip it this time.

Very kind of you. And, with this shot, we, once more are reminded of the many engineering feats that humankind accomplished over the thousands of years to overcome drought and floods, hopefully without damaging the nature, whose restoring may come at the highest price imaginable to men.
