How does one display EXIF data? I can't figure it out, so here are the bare facts about the three previous photos: All taken with a77ii and 70400G at 400mm and about 50-60 feet distant. Cactus Wrens ISO 160 handheld; Bluebird ISO 400 on tripod; Sparrow ISO 500 resting on lowered car window.

Nice shots, Argonaut. Yep, that 70400G is not bad after all.

Oligarch I'm no wiz and others may have better ideas but for access to EXIF data I down loaded Irfanview. I think you can find it somewhere on Sony's "Play Memories" program too.

These are excellent and I love the call of the Cactus Wren. It's used a lot in movies that take place in the West.

Since there is a limit on the size of the image on the forum, I doubt you can publish EXIF info.
with the image. Perhaps, you can copy the info. (from Flickr, for example) and paste it in your
text window. That would be my guess and I am known to be wrong more often than not!!! You
can ask my missus.

IF you keep the EXIF data in the jpeg, you can use the "EXIF Viewer" addon in firefox to see it. The first photo you posted shows:

Sury isn't embedding EXIF data in his jpegs, so nothing shows up on those. I always keep it in, and I usually do my final prep for the web with Irfanview, also.

Dusty - that is one cool add-on. Thank you! It even has options to show only the basic information (f-stop, shutter speed, etc) which makes it easy to read.

Dusty, that is cool indeed. I was not doing anything explicit to "not embed" or "to remove"
exif data. That is always available on my flickr site. Please advise if I should be doing something
to have the info. carried into images posted here.

Like the "head on" view. Great feather detail.

Have to agree that the 70-400G is a belter of a lens. My only gripes with it are that the zoom action is a little stiff and it is a big rotational throw from 70 to 400 which needs two grabs normally. Oh and the lens hood is not secure enough. I've lost track how many times I've knocked it off, it is now quite badly marked after numerous falls onto concrete or tarmac but to it's credit it hasn't broken (yet).
Image quality is superb especially on the a99. It is my all time favourite lens.
I shot some 11,000 images on my trip to Japan and probably 60-70% were shot on the 70-400G.
