It was a warm day last Saturday - a perfect day to drop by the Occoquan National Wildlife Refuge for a walk. The eagles are nesting, so part of the refuge is off limits. Here are some pictures.

Great eagle shots. I can never get the frame filled like that.
Cropped?

Thank you for the comments. The eagle pictures are cropped - I was using the 70-400G and the eagles were still quite high (even with an APS-C camera). I have to keep coming back to the place (especially once the nesting season is over) to see if I can get closer to the birds (and to see other types of birds) at the refuge.

Really nice pictures, Almazar - great eagle pictures, and I like the snowy landscapes with the sparking light. Doesn't look very warm yet to me, but I guess it is all relative :) . (We've had no real snow or very cold weather here in the South of the UK this winter, and spring is very definitely on the way.)

Thanks for the comments. The area that is off limits is pretty limited, but it is essential that the eagles nest in peace, so to speak. That being said, not all the nests are in the area marked in red.
