I decided to give this one another try after many previous attempts failed to produce any results. The file created was too large to be opened by any tools in some jarx and psb formats.
I resized them in HDR and did a pano stitch. The original came to about 115240 X 14115 pixels (1.6GP), it required 650GB of disk space After reducing the longest side by half, now it is a mere 40485 by 5860 and takes up ONLY 185MB.
Location: Alaska.
Camera: A900 with Tamron 200-500 Images stitched: 96 using MSICE.
Where is this landscape? It looks very nice as well as majestic and detailed with nature's wonders...
650 GB of memory consumption to accommodate one panoramic stitching of a photo, that's stunning; almost equal to the capacity of one of my actual hard drives. No wonder the system was overloaded and crashed.

there is a map. If you look for Eielson Visitor Center (mile 66 lower left corner),
that is the location and view you are seeing is looking directly south right below the black dot
on the map.
Well done Sury. So now that one image has completely taken over your computer, it looks like you are in the market for a second computer for the rest of your photo work.
Thank you Jeff and Dusty. Since I found an easy way to rescale (in a batch) using Machinery HDR (thanks to Ken's reference to the software), I decided to give it a try last night after MSICE choked saying there is not enough space buster!hiccup!. Machinery has almost became my first PP step these days. So I am ok with Memory now at 16GB and 10 TB storage should tide me over for a while.

Regarding the Specs. It is a relatively modest home built machine.
Processor: Intel I7 Quadcore
Mother Board: DZ68BC
RAM: 16GB (Only)
C Drive: 18GB SSD
Graphics: Integrated Intel Chip and ATI Radeon
HDDs: 2 TB Internal Hard Drives, one 3TB (system backup), one 4TB (photos backup) and one 5TB(Got a good deal. $99) USB3.0 external drives. I do have a 120GB, 2 500GB NAS drives that I no longer use.
The machine is about 3 years old.

You should be able to download the full res from Flickr. I opened the permissions. If not, please let me know and I will make it available in the drop box. It is about 180MB. If you click on the image, it should take you to my flickr page for the photo. There you can download the size of your choice.

Regardless, it is a fantastic image and I admire your appetite for difficult projects.
