I've been visiting a lot more local parks lately (due to my current birding bug). Leesylvania State Park is about forty minutes from Washington D.C. Here are some pictures from the park.
1. A Bird, A Bridge and a Bunch of Tanks
2. Yellow Flowers
3. Who'll Catch a Fish?
Thanks for looking.

Love them all. Why did the couple end up on that structure? Just curious.

The two people are actually fishing. Hence the title of the picture (I think the heron will get to the fish first).

I was curious how they reached that pier. My apologies for not framing my question properly.
From my angle, I see lot more than fishing is going on there between those anglers...

The man and the woman are by the river bank, where that pylon is located. So people just hop into the pylon from the sandy beach. There were a lot of people fishing in the banks of the Potomac. Technically, the heron is on Powell Creek while the main body of water is the Potomac River. It is a nice little park for some hiking and fishing (and to check out the ruins of an old Confederate fortification). I would never have gone there (and I've lived in this area for decades) were it not for my new birding hobby.

Thank you. Nice spot. By the way, nice flowers. I forgot to mention.

I live close to you. Yet you find such great places and I don't. I am jealous.

I like the unusual picture of at the flat bed cars full of armoured vehicles - very unusual.
Great picture of the yellow flowers - very effective from that angle

Thank you for the comments. It is really warm in the D.C. area now, and it's summertime, which means lots of friends and family visiting (so not much time for birding and the like).
