First attempt at this kind of photography and post processing. Will probably take another crack at them but any hints are welcome.

I wish I could get skies like that.
Stacking one way to go. Registax, Astrostakkert, Deep Sky Stacker are few free programs
that come to mind. Also, you can follow 500/FL for shutter speed. If you lens is 25mm, then
you can go upto 20 sec exposure without star trails (unless that is your intent) or equatorial mount..
Turn off LENR in your camera and take dark frames. That reduces your processing time by half.
Those are the few that I gleaned over a period of time.

Both shots were at 20 seconds. The skies are pollution free (except for the hotel behind me). The Primand Resort is 90 minutes south of Roanoke , VA and sits at 3000 feet of elevation. They have an observatory on site and I got a personal tour.





The views from the golf course weren't bad either.

There you go. Have a T2/MA converter and you can slap your camera to that bad boy.
I have done that with a 800mm scope a while ago for some moon shots. Astro has been on
my to do list and have not gotten around to trying them. I tried some WA astro without much
luck, primarily due to my skills or lack there of.
How did your golf round(s) go? Hopefully as good as those sky shots, if not better.

It won't fit in my bag though.
As for how the golf went, you tell me.

The night sky shots are lovely. The 'Milky Way' looks very neat. You were lucky to get a personal tour inside the observatory. I love that Celestron telescope ...

Nice Milky Way shots, especially for a first attempt. Also, as far as your golf went, if you were taking pictures from your lie, then the first two photos tell me the game wasn't that great. But as Sury said, the photos are.

Thanks for commenting Yildiz and Jeff. Capturing the golf courses was just as fun as playing them. I was alone for both rounds and had two cameras on the passenger seat of the golf cart. What more could one want?
