I just love moments when we're taken off guard by things deciding to go wrong. Only those that present no hazard to one's quality of life and general flow of precious things of course.

Usually the bread-baking ventures I have at home result in success... but this morning had some surprises in store. Here's what I had going wrong for my loaf of bread: an atom bomb mushroom-like rise! And later, a little more success with the pan bread... Taste is all right though.

Would love to see what started looking all 'right' and resulted in looking all 'wrong' for you too.

Thank you Yildiz and DA. I was fortunate indeed.
Though a repeat, it fits the theme I presume.
I am one of the handful of people whose photos were reviewed by officials to determine what

And fortunately the driver survived albeit with a nasty headache, I am told...

I personally watch F1 races and saw such things happen on rainy days when the track was slippery or hot days when the tire surfaces in contact with the hot asphalt melted, hence forcing the driver lose control of the steering and the car would go off track...
There's a very disfigured dent on the side of the car, so maybe an other car ran into this one ?

In any case, a good escape... and a good thing that so many were interested in the race to be taking photos, as yourself: good evidence. A good picture is more valuable than a million words.

I think (unfortunately I was a second or two late) the front right clipped a car and went left only to hit the barrier and caromed few hundred feet. I just sat down taking few photos and instinctively I lifted camera and went for it. It was not like I was ready.

Now talk about "What is wrong with me" rather than what went wrong. These are totally against my instinct but I am still around to talk about them. I was not keen but Jaya wanted to visit the park, AND she did not want to do it alone. Things husband does to make wife happy.



I am told tigers like a vigorous and hard rub. I was advised not to make the touch tentative since that would tickle the tiger
and a tickled tiger is a ticked off tiger.

Sury, I can't help but think that "everything is going wrong" in those photos! Brave is the word, most definitely.

Well, this is at a Tiger Park in Phuket, Thailand. These are raised among humans since they were born.
They are usually harmless as long as you don't provoke the "animal" by following rules.
These rules must be very strictly observed:
1) Never face the animal (perceived threat)
2) Always stay behind the animals
3) Always stay with the trainers
4) Never make sudden movements and run away from the animal

Now what did I do that would have gone wrong most likely...
Image the area where these tigers are sleeping a "L" shaped area.
I was on the short side (images 2 and 3 above) and as were walking back to the other side,
I saw the tiger face about two feet (less than 1 meter) away from at the corner of the "L".
The tiger on the right as you are seeing the picture in image 1 is the one I am talking about.
I had by CZ24-70 on A900 and started shooting (the images) while my wife and trainers moved
on to the the middle of the long "L" about 4-5 meters away.

Suddenly the tiger opened its eyes (perhaps my shutter noise) as I see through the view finder,
I froze with feat as it immediately dawned on my that I broke rules #1, #2, and #3 and almost
tempted to break rule #4. I slowly "slinked" away towards the trainer as the tiger was following
my movement with its eyes. That was longest 3 minutes of my life and was fervently wishing I had
a spare set of undergarments in the car.

That is definitely a two sets of under garments encounter!

Please let me know if my posts are in line with your intended theme. If not, I apologize and remove them.

This is from my Alaska trip. We took a helicopter tour called McKinley Flight tour and I have a fear of flying
(especially small planes) and this is not pressurized cabin. At 18000 feet we are required to use Oxygen. I
did ok for few minutes soon after and then I started losing my breakfast (they give you big garbage bag per person)
due to altitude sickness.
After a few minutes, I had hypoglycemia episode (low sugar) and I pretty much passed out after the second image you
see due to not having any food in the system.
The plane flew to22,000 feet (7000+ meters) to see the top of Mt. McKinley (now official name Denali) and my
wife took the the third one. A900 + Tamron 200-500. As soon as plane came down to 17000 feet I was fine.
Me, brave face...

Knowing very well I much I feel bad for missing out taking the photos, missus stepped in, put the camera in P mode
and went at it.
