I spent some time there with the a99 and the KM 100mm 2.8 macro.

Great shots JT. And that last one! The shallow dof has transformed those petals into a mystical lavender mist from which the stamens rise up to look around.

Thanks for the comment. I wanted that effect in the last image and I had to crop it to get there.

I favor the abstract and flowers present the best opportunity to find shapes and colors that are left to our interpretation. Those last two shots were taken from the hip with the help of the flip out display screen (which I am loving).
Maybe someone else would offer their thoughts about the utility of that feature.
