Starting young

Thought I'd share this one not because of any artistic merit but as memento. I went to Goodwood Revival on Friday taking my A700 and the A200 as backup as usual. My son, 13, who up to now has not been that fussed about cameras spent most of the day shooting with his the a200 and the tamron 70-300:-

I notice a small slip there - you said 'his' A200 - I think you have just lost your backup camera!

Not at all, he was saying "my A700 and the A200", so the A200 was already confiscated...

As I "need" two bodies maybe I ought to think about the A900.

Reminds me of my big brother loaning me his Maxxum 7000 to finish half a roll of film at an air show when I was 13 or 14. He was in high school taking a photography class and did his best to relay the lessons on to me. I took some of the best shots of the next ten years that day, adjusting those mysterious numbers called "f stop" and "shutter speed" with my brother's coaching. I begged my parents for a camera "just like his!" and four years later received a Maxxum 5 for graduation.
