New Website

Unread post by DrScottNicol »

I took the plunge and set up a portfolio website (mainly because a friend had been going on about how he was going to set one up but after a year of bragging, hadn't actually got around to it so I decided to beat him to it - there's nothing like friendly rivalry / petty one one-upmanship to really galvanise your creative energy :-)

After a few trials, I went with Zenfolio as a short cut - its not perfect but the customisation options are pretty good.

ps - its still a bit work in progress - I need to tidy up some of the galleries / hide some of the my portfolio (not for the purpose of secrecy, more because I've uploaded everything, good and bad) so constructive comments and criticism welcome

Hi Scott, : )

I like your latest website and the slideshow so far. There are some photos I never saw here in the forum before and I like them.

I like the website layout and the fact that you actually have a search engine. Did you create the site yourself or did you purchase the template? Any particular web-designing software that you'd like to mention, if you created the website yourself?

I'd like to know because lately I've been looking at Xara's Webdesigner 7 Premium and I'm wondering if I can also integrate a search feature if I actually acquire the software.

Thank you in advance and goodluck with the site! : ))

Güzel yıldız, I think this is from using Zenfolio as the website base :)

Yes, its the Zenfolio template, slightly modified - its very customisable within the boundaries they set (so the sites can look quite varied) but unfortunately, not so good at incorporating outside html. They do various levels of subscription inc a free on I think but you have to pay to remove the zenfolio logo for example.

And thanks for looking / comments :-)

Dear Zeb and Scott,

Thank you for all the clarification. :D

Zenfolio it is.... the template does have a 'zen' look.
