Hello from Moscow, Russia

Unread post by yukonrus »

Hello everybody,

My name is Yuri, I'm from Moscow, Russia.

I'm using Minolta/Konica Minolta cameras since 1990. Actually, Minolta X300S was my first SLR and I'm happy to still possess one of those (the first was stolen in Rome in 1995 :( Later, to my pleasure, I also got a Dynax 7 and a Dynax 7D.

It was great to have found this forum, I wish everyone all the best (of course, brilliant pictures first of all).

Now you know whom to contact if you need something from Russia!

Hi Yuri!

Send us some snow around Christmas. We hardly ever get proper snow now in the south of Scotland (south of Edinburgh), and when we do, it's more likely to hit us in February or March, so we have not had a proper white Christmas for a few years.

I met the president of the Russian Federation of Wedding Photographers, Laslo Gabany, when he came over to the British annual professional photography awards last month. It was very interesting to see his albums for wealthy Russian clients, they are somehow more 'rich' in using colour and warmth (rather like the decorations on Russian churches) - and also, they were heavily retouched so the bride looked like a model in every shot.

Many thanks, David!

I will do my best with the snow, but my daughter for the two last years complains that I am unable to arrange some for her

Nice to meet you, Doctor! By the way, my mother-in-law is native Armenian and my wife is half-Armenian, so we might be somehow relatives! :D
