Hi from Edinburgh

Unread post by L J »

Hi folks,

I bought my first DSLR last year (a Sony Alpha 350) and so far I've invested in a Sony 50mm 1.4 lens and a Sigma 70-300mm lens.

My main interest is portrait and fashion photography and I look forward to learning a lot from you guys!! 8)

Cheers!

Welcome!

Lesley, you should subscribe to the Photoworld magazine, and come along to our meeting on March 22nd at Edinburgh PS (all day). It's run by Duncan McEwan, and he usually has four or five excellent photographers to show and talk about their work, plus an open crit based on projecting digital files brought by members and discussing them.

Hi Lesley and welcome.
Let me assure you that you're on the right path.
If I were in Edinburgh, I would definitely be at the meetings.
As for the Photoworld, do get a subscription, it's wonderful. :D

Well, if this isn't the nicest welcome any new member could imagine, then I don't know what is when photography is the common element. :D

Welcome Lesley, :D

Nice to have a new lady member on board who is into fashion photography! You're at the advantage of being very close to David's circle of photographers by location as opposed to us being rather far away in other countries. Enjoy it.

And we're looking forward to learning from your approach to photography. :D

Welcome aboard, Lesley!

You CAN learn a lot here. Don't let some of the heated banter get to you, although the most vociferous poster just tendered his resignation, so you may be spared.

The rest of the guys and gals here can be most helpful without shouting you down.

Welcome, Leslie! I understand that Edinburgh is a very picturesque city so if you feel like branching out and taking other kinds of photos you are in a good place. Also, since you like taking photos of people you might also try some street photography.
