I’ve came recently to Minolta/Sony by quite a circuitous route travelled over the last 50 years. Zeiss Ikon/Contax/Yashica Contax/Sony R1/Sony A100 and, of course, the thread running through them all is Carl Zeiss. Now I’ve started a journey backwards through time to earlier film Minoltas.

I’ve been collecting and using vintage stuff for half a century but, sad to say, Minolta has never figured much in my hobby – until now. I have much ground to make up :)

I'm much looking forward to Sony's next offerings.

You will find some of the earlier Minolta lenses very interesting. Quite unlike Zeiss, but equally good in their different way. I hope you get a chance, one day, to find a 1960s 100mm f2. They are very rare but one of the best SLR lenses ever made.
