Batten down the hatches - if you have any hatches. Good luck. Never been in a hurricane, closest has been at Atlantic storm in Tenerife which whipped palm trees around like they were straw and washed cars down the roads into the sea. We stood on the balcony and felt the storm raging around us. They don't build using stuff like shingles and siding, though, they build Arab style so the houses are normally just blocks with flat concrete roofs - not so much dangerous material flying around in the air.

Apparently we are lucky enough and It won't be a Hurricane anymore, but just a Tropical Storm (REF: http://www.nytimes.com/projects/hurrica ... 1/Irene?hp)

BTW, Welcome

Hi there! How did you weather the storm?

No power for about 5 days.....other than a mess in the yard to clean up no damage. My double covered Mustang GT convertible survived unscathed too, which was a pleasant surprise. I was pretty concerned a tree would drop on it.

Unfortunately tho my A 700 is busted from being dropped the w/e before in the hotel lobby after a fun time shooting my nieces wedding.

Tech says it is toast. Running on A 100 only and mulling over what to do going forward.

Ouch  - sorry to hear about the A700. At least Sony has some options for you to think about :D .

Was seriously leaning towards jumping ship and selling off Minolta/maxxum/sony gear and moving to Canon 7D EOS / not impressed so far with what I read about the A 77/ A 65.....

Now leaning towards a used A 700 from KEH at least until I decide what I want to do moving forward.
