Just joined the forum, but have occassionally dropped by to check out discussions over the last couple of years.
I'm in my mid thirties and would describe myself as a bad amateur photographer, but love taking photos (obviously) and now in the digial age, developing RAW files within ACD Pro 5. I first got the bug when I was about 11 years old and the first SLR I used was a Canon that my Uncle lent me.
In the summer of 1988 I worked long and hard and saved up for a Minolta 7000AF with 35-105 lens (if I recall it cost me £288 on sale as the 7000i had just been released). This camera served me very well for 18 years to 2006 when I bought into digital and the Dynax 5D.
In turn, the 5D lasted until I replaced with with the A77 in November. I also bought a Nex-5, for the reasons most people have - compact, DSLR quality.
I only recently sold the 7000AF, along with a few old lenses, Dynax 5 (I bought for my wife) and Dynax 5D.
I now mainly rely on my 16-80 CZ and 70-300 G SSM lenses but have a 50mm 1.7 and will probably invest in 2 or 3 additional lenses in due course.
