Photoclubalpha

Hello everyone, i am Marius, an IT specialist with a small passion for phtography.
I live in Hunedoara county, (Transilvania ), Romania.
I have recently bought myself an Alpha200 with it's standard kit lenses: 18-70 and 75-300. Previoysly I was using two different dslr-like P&S cameras.
I was glad that I found a alpha-dedicated forum, and I look forward to "meet" new people and to learn new things.
Please excuse my poor english!

First thing I thought before your posted picture was shown on my screen "hey, I bet this guy posted a vampire bat picture" , but I was wrong
Anyway why should I be afraid, I just ate much garlic

Those are just old stories, but the foreigners seems to like them.
Btw, if anyone wants info for travelling to Romania, fell free to ask me.

I have another business - not connected with Photoclubalpha - importing and selling musical instruments made by HORA in Reghin. One day I find the time to make the long journey - it would be better to drive from Scotland than fly, I think - to see them. I nearly bought a house in Romania five years ago, I guess I should have done that. It was too difficult to get to.

Welcome - you have a very large country, with a great range of scenery. You also have a language I can almost understand when it is written, and not all when it is spoken!

Thank you for your warm welcome. My country is, indeed, very beautiful! Too bad it's habitants are not so aware of that.
Recently I was browsing a few (all 3 of them) romanian photo-related forums, but if you do not own a "canikon", you're not so well seen. I don't know why they are disconsidering the other three important camera makers (sony, pentax, olympus), maybe they like to all have the same shoulder-strap, or smth.
For an example, if a photo was taken with the 18-70 kit lens = it's very poor, etc. , but if it has EOS in the exif data - automatically it's gorgeous!

Welcom. yours is another coutry I would love to travel in someday. Vampires or not ... we have them here too.. but if you threaten them with a job they run away.

One question about the picture you posted, which is very nice, is that a spider with a fly in the flower?

The spider shot was taken with the 75-300mm tele lens, at 300mm. I do like the 18-70 lens, also!

Nice one - the job thing. Here it's very difficult to find a decent paid job in the It related domain.
The spider was having his dinner, I don't know if that's a fly or a flying ant.

Just remembered that the laws changed two years ago, now one foreign citizen cand buy a house/terrain without any problems.
