Tom,

The pics were right regarding density, but they were into the redish register -more the interiors and that's probably because the available light. The red cast is consistent, so probably your screen needs you tu run your calibrting device again (I'll post this link again just FYI: http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read. ... e=27922167)

That's why I always recommend to choose "print with corrections". Even If I PP photographs in the same screen I use for printing, I'll find differences between the soft proofed image on Photoshop and how it looks like onto the printing software.

Thank you very much for checking the prints. I received an e-mail from the mother of the bride saying how happy she was with them. As you probably noticed, all of my prints except one were candid photos of people. I figured that the professionals they had hired would do a better job of capturing the "standard" posed wedding pictures, and the mother had said that she would have been taking shots of close friends in attendance if she had not been committed to being part of the event herself.

You are correct - it was quite a party. Neither my wife nor I had previously been to an Orthodox Jewish wedding, so some of the events were very new to us. However, we had a great time, along with a lot of other people to whom this type of party was familiar. I kept expecting to see a call for a paramedic, as a number of the people in attendance were dancing essentially non-stop at a very high energy level for a long time after the reception dinner. (That was another memorable part of the day. They had approximately 350-400 people at a sit-down dinner after the ceremony, and the entire meal was superbly handled. Over the years I have been at a number of large meals like this - although not at any weddings - and I have never seen such a well-trained and efficient staff.)

Thanks again for making sure that I did not disappoint a friend due to poor technical quality of the prints. I'll recalibrate my monitor and see if I can get rid of that reddish cast.

I have yet another question for you.

I plan to purchase a Sony DSLR for my daughter-in-law as a gift for her birthday. Since the prices in the US are normally identical from all of the authorized dealers, I plan to make the purchase from Adorama as a “thank-you” to you for taking the trouble to check the color of the wedding prints that I sent to our friends in New York.

I have heard that all of the employees at Adorama are on salary and none receive a commission from sales. If this is accurate, I cannot put any extra money in your pocket with this purchase. However, I was wondering if there is any way to make sure that you at least get an “atta-boy” from Adorama because of this purchase?

I don't know where did you herd that none of the Adorama employees get commissions for the sales but it is not true. In my case, I don't work for Adorama but for AdoramaPix (no, it is not the same thing, even if it is the same group...) No one get any commission at the lab (even if printers have "our" own clients that only send work because us) and all my interest in make it works is because I like what I do, I believe in what we do and I'm not in the mood for looking for a new job.

Sales people, at the store, get a commission. Some sales people at the phone too. What happened "before my time" (I'm working at the lab since 2004) is that sales people had an aggressive approach, pushing clients to buy unnecessary accessories. This practices had been eradicated long time ago, and you can see Jerry Davis scanning forums like DPR in order to "fix" possible issues (Jerry is a wonderful guy with an extraordinary sens of humor)

Do you know his work schedule? I'm in California and the three-hour time difference will limit the exact hours that I can call during the work week, so I want to be sure that I call during a time that someone else will not answer the phone.
